Looking for a gay campground near Detroit?
CreekRidge Campground is a private, membership-only, all-male campground in Stockbridge, Michigan, about 90 minutes from downtown Detroit via I-94 W and US-127 (add 15–20 minutes if you’re leaving during Friday evening rush through the Ann Arbor corridor). Designed for men ages 21 and older, CreekRidge Campground combines tent camping, RV sites, cabin rentals, a heated pool, hiking trails, fishing ponds, Club Solitude nightlife, and a community where friends become family.
Membership is required for all guests.
Why Detroit Guests Make the Drive
There are plenty of campgrounds within reach of Detroit. There are plenty of LGBTQ-friendly places to visit. But there are very few built specifically for gay, bi, queer, and LGBTQ+ men looking for community, outdoor recreation, and genuine connection in the same weekend.
Located about 90 minutes out, CreekRidge Campground is close enough for a spontaneous weekend and far enough to feel like a real escape. Many guests leave after work Friday and arrive before the evening’s events start. Others treat the drive itself as the transition — watching the city give way to open sky and wooded trails before the weekend even begins.
Getting Here from Detroit
Take I-94 West toward Ann Arbor, then connect to US-127 North toward Stockbridge. If you’re hauling a larger RV, this route is more manageable than smaller connecting roads — see our RV Camping page for site specs and hookup details once you arrive.
Michigan’s First Private, Membership-Only, All-Male Campground
Membership isn’t just a formality — it’s what shapes the atmosphere guests experience throughout the property, built around respect, accountability, and familiarity rather than anonymity. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for another season, that’s the difference members from Detroit consistently mention.
A Different Themed Weekend Every Weekend
No two weekends look the same. Popular recurring events include CreekRidge Pride, Foam and Fabulous, Pool-A-Palooza, GLOW Weekend, Fierce and Furry, Wigstopia, and Onesie Wonderland. Check the Events page for current dates before you plan your drive.
Club Solitude: Where Camping Meets Nightlife
Most campgrounds offer campfires. CreekRidge offers campfires too — but when the sun goes down, Club Solitude brings a different energy entirely: our on-site dance club, and one of the main reasons Detroit-area members keep coming back rather than just visiting once.

Visiting for the First Time?
You don’t need camping experience. You don’t need to know anyone. You don’t need to attend every event. Many first-time guests arrive wondering if they’ll fit in — most leave wondering why they waited so long to visit.

Is it worth staying overnight, or should I do a day trip from Detroit? Do I need to be a member before I arrive, or can I sign up at the gate? Membership is required for all guests. See our Membership page to understand the process before you make the drive out.
What’s the best route for bringing an RV from the Detroit area? I-94 to US-127 is the more RV-friendly route than smaller connecting roads for larger rigs. Full hookup specs are on our RV Camping page.
